Our Movement

The National Tax Strike is a growing movement of US patriots concerned by the Trump-Musk administration’s hostile takeover of the federal government, the violation of our constitutional rights, and the unchecked power exercised by the Executive Branch.

We believe in paying taxes to support an accountable, effective government that serves the needs of the public. We have a moral and constitutional duty to not pay federal taxes to a government with unchecked Executive power.

Our group includes people nationwide with different backgrounds and faiths, all united to hold federal leaders accountable. We engage in non-violent civil disobedience. Some of us are long-time activists while others are new to any kind of protest.

Support for Tax Resistance

Americans deserve and pay for a government that works for them and protects their rights, not a government that works against them and takes away their rights. Republicans need to be reminded of this. Together with economic forms of protest such as boycotts of GOP donors, the threat of a tax strike could be the reminder they need.

The good news is that the path of tax resistance is well trodden. The National War Tax Resistance Coordinating Committee, for example, has been providing instruction for conscientious tax resisters since 1982.
